
Onion and grain mustard sauce
Ingredients
- 2 large red onion thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp grain mustard
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- large pinch of grated lemon rind
- 2 bay leaves
- 5 spring of thyme
- 1 tbsp honey
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 cup chicken or veggie stock
- 1 one clove garlic crushed
- salt and black pepper
Instructions
- Over low heat warm oil. Cook onions, lemon rind and garlic until soft
- Add flour. cook 2mins
- Add half stock slowly as sauce thickens
- Add mustard, honey and vinegar,. Add remaining stock
- Stir and cook slowly until sauce thickens
- Add herbs, salt and black pepperHint: good sauce for seafood, steams veggies, chicken and pork
